Ten Lessons for a Post-Pandemic World (Portuguese Edition)

On June 25, 2017, almost three years before the pandemic, Fareed Zakaria made the following prediction on his CNN television program: "One of the greatest threats that the United States has to face is not at all large. In fact, it is tiny, microscopic, tens of times smaller than the head of a pin. Deadly pathogens, whether man-made or natural, can trigger a global health crisis and we are not at all prepared to deal with it. [...] Our overcrowded cities, wars, natural disasters, and international air travel can lead to a deadly virus originating in a small village in Africa to be transmitted and reach the entire world in just 24 hours [...]. Biosafety and global pandemics transcend all national borders. Pathogens, viruses, and diseases are equally deadly. When the crisis erupts, we will wish for more funds and greater global cooperation. But by that time, it may be too late."
